Technology

Milling blades: About the technology

Coating

Specially coated milling blades complete the product range. High-tech processes are specifically used for the coating, which are adapted to the respective load and the corresponding wear behavior of the knives. For example, additive laser welding, PTA and thermal spraying are used as coating processes.

Surface

Depending on the purpose of use and the machine, different surfaces are advantageous. The milling blade assortment is offered oil coated. The surface sealings ensure the best possible preservation or protection of the blade surfaces. Longer storages of the milling blades is possible without any loss of quality.

Materials

We consistently rely on the use of the highest quality steels. We use wear-resistant chrome steels as the basic material for our milling blades. These modern, tough steel materials have proven themselves for years and show maximum load bearing capacities, abrasion resistances and product lifes.

Heat treatment

Depending on the machine type and application, the milling blades are martensitically, bainitically or inductively hardened. The blades are both zone-hardened and through-hardened. This it what makes the knives belong to the high-performance cutting tools, which are required for the use in harvesting technologies.
