Round baler knives: About the technology

Coating

Specially coated round baler knives complete the product range group. Proven high-tech processes are used for the coating, which are adapted to the respective load and the corresponding wear behavior of the knives. For example, laser additive welding, PTA and thermal spraying are used as coating processes.

Surface

Depending on the purpose of use and the harvesting machine, different surfaces are advantageous. The round baler knife range is offered oiled or powder coated. The surface sealings ensure the best possible preservation or protection of the round baler knife surfaces. Longer storages of the round baler knives are possible without any loss of quality.

Materials

We consistently rely on the use of the highest quality steels. For example, we use wear-resistant chrome steels as the base material for our round baler knives. These modern, tough steel materials have proven themselves over many years and show maximal load bearing capacities, abrasion resistances and product lifes.

Heat treatment

The baler knives are martensitically, bainitically or inductively hardened, depending on the machine type and application. The knives are both zone-hardened and completely through-hardened. This is what makes the baler knives belong to the high-performance cutting tools, which are required for the use in harvesting technologies.
